Joseph A. Benjamin, CPA, CFP, MST is a business consultant with over thirty years of extensive public accounting experience dealing with audits and tax planning for closely held companies. His specialty is executive financial planning, including compensation arrangements, investment analysis, and retirement and estate planning considerations for professionals and wealthy individuals. 

David B. Birkenstein, CPA, JD  has been practicing in the public accounting profession for over forty years. He has been involved in all aspects of public accounting, specializing in business consultation, income tax matters, financial and estate planning.

Matthew J. Costello, CPA is a business and tax consultant with over twelve years of public accounting experience serving small businesses, middle-market enterprises and high net worth individuals.  His specialties include performing financial statement engagements, accounting software consulting, and tax and business planning consulting for family-owned businesses and entrepreneurs.  Over his career, Matthew has obtained extensive experience in the industries of real estate, professional services and manufacturing, among others.

Christopher G. Beranek, CPA is a business & tax consultant with over ten years of public accounting experience.  Besides being the in-charge accountant on many of our attest engagements, his responsibilities also include, preparing a wide range of tax returns, assisting and training our clients with their accounting software, consulting with our clients on various tax & accounting issues, and training staff.

Anthony D. Krenzel is a senior accountant with the firm.  He has been with the firm for eleven years and is a graduate with a BS in Accounting from Illinois State University.  He has staff responsibilities for quarterly payroll tax returns, assists with the compilation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and prepares corporate, partnership, trust and individual income tax returns.

Patricia A. Walker is a payroll supervisor with the firm.  She has worked in the accounting profession for over twenty years.  She is responsible for processing and overseeing close to 35 business payroll clients.  Her responsibilities also include responding to IRS notices, preparation of Department of Labor reports and other light accounting work.

Michele A. Lou is a financial consultant with the firm.  She has a BS in Psychology & Business Administration from Illinois State University and holds FINRA Series 7, Series 66, LTC and Illinois life and health insurance licenses.  Her duties include analysis and determination of our clients investment needs and goals along with educating them on available products and market trends.

Sophie J. Palak-Lopez has worked as an office administrator reporting to managing partners in the accounting profession for more than twenty years.  As office manager of our firm, her responsibilities include monitoring the human resource needs of the firm, client billing, preparation of client and government letters and monitoring of the firms continuing education requirements along with a wide range of other administrative duties.
